We are blessed to have such a wonderful community that provides so much support. Without them, we wouldn’t be where we are today. Omars was founded on August 26, 2013. Its humble beginning started at 563 University Blvd in a 1,200 sq. ft Suite. It began with the idea of having 4 stylist chairs and 4 barber chairs. Omar brought his techniques from Lebanon to Harrisonburg, Virginia. His clean-edged cuts, hot towel shave, and facial threading had everyone raving about the detailed service they were receiving. Slowly the Salon grew from having 4 barber chairs to switching out the 4 salon chairs into 8 barber chairs. A couple of years passed and the salon continued to grow. The trendy styles and friendly staff were in high demand. Omars added 2 more barber chairs making it a total of 10 barbers in a very tight 1,200 sq. ft building. Today we are honored to serve our clients from all parts of not only Virginia but parts of NY, NC, and SC, just to name a few. Most of our clientele comes from Nova, Charlottesville, Roanoke, Virginia Beach, and the Richmond area.
On April 1, 2019, Omars had a very extraordinary opportunity and was relocated up the hill to its beautiful 4,400 sq. ft Salon. With the larger space, the Omars team has grown to a total of 15 barbers our lovely receptionists, and a few very talented hair stylists. The new Building has two floors. The downstairs “man cave” fits our 15 Barbers, an ample waiting area (much needed in the old location) a pool table and the star gazed shampoo area. The Upstairs is focused on creating a chic relaxing atmosphere with its private Suites. These suites cater to most of our female clientele. We currently have 2 hair stylists specializing in hairstyles/ cuts, and threading. We are excited to welcome our newest member to the team, Tessa is our esthetician. She offers eyelash extensions and full-body waxing services.
Have you ever gotten a haircut/ color that you weren’t pleased with? How did you feel from that moment until the style grew out or until you were able to go get it fixed? Omar's Mission is to provide exceptional services to each and every client that walks through its doors. We try to remind people of how handsome/beautiful they are. When you feel like the “Best You” you portray that to the rest of the world. You tend to smile more, laugh a little more, and crack a few extra jokes. There the world is just a little bit better. Our goal is to reach out to as many people as possible from your 1-year-old first haircut, your next-door neighbor, your mailman, your family Dr., the cashier lady at the store, or even your Gran Papa Joe.
